Help

Welcome to Pressure Radio.
This web site has been designed for ease of use, with the idea being you can find the main features very quickly, e.g. clear listen links, and with pop-up player that supports many media systems. One of the difficulties with internet radio is every persons computer is set-up slightly different so a clickable listen link could open a different media player on person A to person B so its hard for us to explain the exact process. However we have done all we can to avoid this problem by having our website detect which browser media plugins you have and try to select a suitable listening method. Please follow through this help guide carefully before contacting us.

We have divided this help page in to sections so you can find your way around easily.

Listening To Pressure

What are you trying to listen with?

Website (Popup player)   PC / Windows   Apple Mac   iTunes   iPhone   Mobile device

Website Pop-Up Player

To launch the pop-up player just click the listen button listen buttonIn most cases the popup player should detect what media player browser plugins you have installed and auto play.pop-up player layout
The first time you run the pop-up player you may get browser security notices, this is normal its just a built in security feature of your browser (particularly Windows Internet Explorer)
Below is an example of a security message you might see, its just the browser checking that you agree to run the plugin and you can safely agree on this occasion.
Security alert example picture
Its possible that you may have to get newer versions of the media player plugins in order for it to auto play. The order the pop-up player detects plugins is Real Player, Windows Media player, Quicktime then if it doesn’t find those it will try and run a flash based player (that also requires adobe flash to run) Most PC’s & macs have flash installed but iPads don’t.

Pop ups

Note: We are using javascript to pup-up the windows for the pop-up player and the chat room links this is perfectly valid why of doing things but some pop-up protection plug ins and apps such as Zone Alarm can stop the popup – either add http://pressureradio.com to the safe sites or disable the pop up protection.

chat room help Chat Room help

The Pressure Chat room is designed to work on all platforms and for most users should just work by selecting the buttons on the main website. To enter the chat room click the main button chat room help on the website this will open a page showing different chat interfaces. There are a few different chat interfaces but they all connect to the same chat room. Below explains the different chat interfaces:-Note: Some browser pop-up protection plugins or zone alarm may provent these from working click for more info
enhanced chat room Enhanced Chat: This is the best interface for PC and MAC users as it opens a flash based chat room with additional panel at the top which shows what DJ/show is playing it has auto detecting media players so it automatically plays the radio and also has links to common parts of the website like the DJ schedule etc.
lite Chat Lite chat: This chat is flashed based same as above but doesn’t show you what DJ is playing or give you listen links.
Non flash chat None Flash chat: This is a HTML / AJAX based chat room for devices that don’t have adobe flash like iPad and iPhone.
mobile devices You can also get the chat room on some smart phones, iPhone, most Androids and some S60 based phones (Nokia) visit http://pressureradio.com/mobile from your device and select your device type.
Image NOT WORKING? If you have problem running the Enhanced or Lite versions then we recommend you upgrade your adobe flash to the latest version The Flash versions need Adobe Flash.
Click here to see what version of flash you have. Click here to download latest version.Note: the chat room may not work at some large organisations (companies, colleges, schools etc.) this is because they are heavily fire walled and run through proxy servers.
Still not working? You may need to UNINSTALL your current flash version first by clicking Here then re-install from scratch (use link above).
If it still doesn’t work it maybe check the Adobe Flash security settingsThe settings are not run from your Computer they are accessed via an application that runs from the adobe website.
Click here to open the settings panel add http://pressureradio.com and http://pressureradio.co.uk to the safe sites. You may also need to empty your Internet browser file cache (delete Internet files. Click here for how or even delete the cookie click for how. Other reasons chat may not work are Firewall settings etc). If you still have problem Don’t worry we will do our best to help you contact us via the contact page.
Note: Windows 7 (64bit) comes with two IE browsers. There is no 64 bit FLASH plug in for the 64bit version. Use the 32bit version or install Firefox which is 32bit. That effects anything that uses flash (e.g. chat room).
