C.9ine feat. Kholi – Chasing (AtJazz Record Company)

Martin Iveson has to be congratulated for this astute release on his fine imprint AtJazz Record Company. In it’s original mix (vocal aside) this track does very little for me despite C.9ine being one of the biggest names in Afro-House it’s just not my bag. However when I heard a snippet of the AtJazz remix I was hooked immediately, the vocals of Kholi are allowed to shine over the intro with it’s deep sub-bass, nice percussive touches and beautiful chords before those wicked drums carry you kicking and screaming onto the dancefloor. Then all of a sudden your left awash in a soulful drop that you can’t fail to get lost in and just as your flying through the clouds those snare drums come crashing back to remind you there’s a dancefloor beneath your feet. Oh yes!! Alan Ho provides a remix of quality with beats and bassline that drive the vocals superbly over the excellent keyboard work.
